Dear Diary,
It’s barely mid-October and already I feel the tingle of tinsel in my beard. The world is still tangled in cobwebs and carving pumpkins, but here at the North Pole, we’re humming carols and testing cookie batches like it’s December 24th.
The elves are ahead of schedule this year — bless their nimble fingers and boundless cheer. They’ve already prototyped a slime-powered rocket launcher (don’t worry, it’s safe… mostly), and the wrapping department is experimenting with biodegradable glitter. Mrs. Claus has been baking cranberry snickerdoodles that might just be the highlight of my sleigh ride snack stash.
I peeked at the Naughty & Nice list today. It’s still fluctuating wildly — October is a volatile month for behavior, especially with all the sugar-fueled Halloween chaos. I’ll give it another week before locking in rankings. Reindeer training begins tomorrow. Blitzen insists on doing warm-up laps in costume — last year he wore a tutu, and I have no reason to believe this year will be any less dramatic.
I know some folks think it’s too early for Christmas prep. But joy doesn’t wait. Magic needs momentum. And besides, if I don’t start now, how will I ever get through 7.9 billion wish lists?
So yes, Diary, I’m early. But I regret nothing.
Yours in peppermint and preparation,

Kris
