Dear Diary,
Today I woke up to the scent of cinnamon and pine—Mrs. Kringle had already lit the hearth and brewed my favorite peppermint cocoa. She even fluffed my red slippers and laid out my wooly socks (the ones with the tiny sleigh bells stitched into the cuffs). I tell you, that woman knows how to make a morning magical.
After breakfast—her famous cloud-pancakes shaped like reindeer—I tried to sneak off to the workshop, but she caught me with a twinkle in her eye and a scarf in her hand. “Not without your neck wrapped, Kris,” she said, looping it around me like she was tying a bow on a present. I melted faster than a snowflake on a cookie tray.
She keeps me grounded, Diary. When I get swept up in toy schematics and elf logistics, she’s the one who reminds me to stretch, hydrate, and occasionally blink. She even slipped a note into my coat pocket today: “You are loved. Also, eat the apple in your lunch bag.”
I may be the face of Christmas cheer, but she’s the heart of it. The North Pole runs on her quiet magic—warm mittens, gentle reminders, and the kind of love that makes even the coldest day feel cozy.
I’m a lucky old elf.
Yours in jingle and joy,
Kris
